Posting Photos is a bit addictive - why did I not work this out sooner?

A good few years ago after amassing a large 28mm Orc army  from Vendel Miniatures I thought  "I need some Hobbits".  Hobbits then were quite hard to find , particularly ones that did not look cartoonish. 

I found some nice ones by Mirliton Miniatures and bought enough to do an army for Dragon Rampant.  Eventually I got these painted and acquired some more hobbits from various manufacturers.  Till I had quite a good force.  The only thing missing was  the legendary Bandobras Took to lead them.

I looked at Mithril Miniatures, lovely figure  but they had ceased production.  I knew that the Evil Empire had made one, but finding one was like looking for Rocking Horse Dung.  I did find one eventually on E-bay, but I really did not like the figure, also  the price made even my eyes water - I could not justify even if I thought it was the best figure in the world .

So I contacted a friend in the industry and said would you convert a figure for me.  He very kindly agreed and I sent off a casting I wanted him to convert and a description of how I wanted Bandobras Took to look.

Below is a painted version of the Mounted Hobbit Archer, and the painted Bandobras created by the genius Freind.  I am very pleased to have a unique leader for my Hobbits

  When I read the title
I thought of little tanks that stop every 40 Minutes for something to eat 
:- Too much Tolkien I think.
