Problem with those is that D8 is the most common. Would have prefered it to be D10. Do play well though.

Aie, D10 rolls in a very satisfying way. The D8 just doesn't roll that well. It was that frustrating seeing it roll I remember never taking a D8 weapon when I used to play D&D.

the most satisfying rolling action is surely the D12. Especially those big blue ones - once they start rolling they just dont stop!!

Yep - The D20 is already too much of a ball, 12's the deal aesthetically. Although playwise I prefer the D6.

Principles, whilst having many great ideas, was dire for the amount of different dice it needed: D6, d10, & d20 on a good game, but then you could have an optional Average, d4  for different commanders, plus a DAV+1 in Napoleonics for a superior commander .
I have the world's worst d20, it rolled 11 x 20 in one competition game of Principles of War about ten years ago, routing my entire army (and setting the world record for routs in one game). May need to think about a new one soon, it's still in disgrace!
Anyon eremember round D6s (with ball beraings in) and d100s (with 100 faces, gotta love a centihedron?

You should have hit it with a large, heavy hammer - in full view of all your other dice.

Laughing maniacally whilst doing this is entirely optional ....

Cheers, Martyn
