Hi all. Just wondering what kind of containers you use to store/transport your 10mm minis?

I use 4 liter Really Useful Boxes lines with adhesive magnetic sheets. If I remember I'll take a photo of them tomorrow and post here.

I use RUB, but bigger boxes. 10l.

I make shelves out of foamboard to get 2 levels per box.

But isn't there a thread with some useful tips on the forum already ?
Hornswoggled if I can find it though. :(

I MAY be thinking of individual threads where folk have pictured their particular storage 'methods'.

For painted figures I use magnetic sheet on the base of the figures. Then steel paper* in the storage container, usual a box file. I sometimes add a shelf to get two layers in.

*Steel paper seems to be getting harder to get, so I sometimes use magnetic sheet in the box file, and I also have a set of Bisley metal drawers.

I've also got a good number of MDF inserts for 9L RUB - which work well for WWI & WWII figures where they don't have spears and flags, so you can get a lot of quite short layers in a box.

One of the main problems with storing 10mm figures is that most storage solutions are too tall, so you end up loosing a lot of vertical space.

Quite a few of my gaming group use foam trays for 10mm figures.

Most are in really useful boxes, although the Arabs are in a ploystrne tray in the plans cabinet, along with a shed load of 15's, 20's, 28's and shipping

There have been other threads on this but can't find them on a quick search, I use these things https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07GS5HGCD which work a treat and stack up nicely for minimal wasted space. I line the bottom with stuck on magnetic receptive paper to keep it all secure.

I also use RUB boxes with inserts by Commission Figurines and Warbases. 4ltr will take 2 layers of troops well and 9ltr can take up to four layers. These two sizes can also be stacked on each other.

I've a collection of 16" pizza boxes with 390mm square steel inserts glued inside.
They happily stack 6 deep (40mm high inside) and accommodate most stuff I use.
Transport is OK 2 deep, wrapped in a bin-bag.

The few bigger things are in 4L Really useful boxes with an A4 steel insert..

I also use industrial quantities of these!  I have also discovered they sell a tray which can be inserted into the top of these which allow two layers of 10mm figures to be accommodated easily. Pikemen in the bottom layer, anything else in the top.

RUB storage towers 7 litre drawers, most with inserts to double the capacity.

I use mainly Really useful boxes, either with the plastic  trays made for them.

Note if you use one of the hanging trays they will stretch the locking handles and  the box wil not lock properly without a hanging tray.  As some of the hanging trays ave  very useful compartments I cut the hanging bit off with a razor saw, and use them as normal trays

Often I use the really nice MDF ones from Walt at Commission Figurines at varying depths. Often these store more figures than the really useful trays as their is less wasted space.  They are also significantly cheaper.

I line my boxes with magnetic sheet and use either Steel paper or Ferro sheet under the figures as its thinner than the magnetic sheet

Steel paper is almost impossible to get but you can get thin Ferro sheet (instead of steel paper ) magnetic sheet from Magnetic displays.

Box files are ok, you can get two layers of figures in a standard box file (by making a shelf  or one in a slimline boxfile.

RUB 4L or 9L mainly, with inserts from RUB and various purveyors of mdf.

4L and 9L are same footprint, so they stack.
