Local Antics is closed until 03/12. Apparently models & modelling supplies have been judged as non-essential!

WHAT !!!!!.  That can't be right.

I was in the local firework shop yesterday and they said that trading standards had been round and said they could only stay open if they sold food - so they are going to put some  food for sale on the counter. This allows them to stay open.

He also pointed out on the same industrial estate are a Bed shop and a Bathroom  store that have huge areas  for customers to walk round, a very low footfall  so would be perfectly safe, but they had to shut, but a B &M on the same site with narrow aisles and a big footfall could stay open.

The Lockdown rules were strange in Germany, first time round.
a local Muller (like Boots) could stay open deemed essential.
for all the perfume and deodorants and hair dyes.
went down stairs and the CD/DVD section was open but the model section was taped off.
so you could buy hair dye or a nice DVD to watch
but couldn't buy and toys or models  :o

There's a bit of that going on in Wales at the moment from what I can see.

The logic goes:
Books* (for example) are not essential items, so bookshops cannot open.
To be fair to bookshops, no one else is allowed to sell books while they are shut.
Therefore, supermarkets & other shops have had to tape up all the bookshelves to stop people buying books.

Somehow feminine hygiene products ended up on the non-essential list, which caused a bit of an uproar.

* As an example. I don't know if books are actually being classed as non-essential

You're right there, Martyn.

The books in Tesco's are 'taped off'....Though the magazines can be bought as normal.
Yes....There was a bit of an uproar over the 'hygiene products'....But I believe that was just one retailer (and maybe just one branch) 'misunderstanding the rules'.
The only 'things' in that particular aisle that seemed to be 'out of bounds', when I looked.....(and just for the first few days)..... were some cosmetics.

Cheers - Phil  :)

Seems a bit mad, when it's all still available on Amazon!

Would this genuinely happen to anyone other than me ?

Down to the village to collect some medication from the local pharmacy, early this morning.

Stand outside...adjust face mask....peer in....Too many folk in there ?.... No.
Enter pharmacy....Look for hand sanitizer.....Ah....They've moved it.
Press top of bottle....Nothing happens....It's sticking....Press harder....and harder.
All of a sudden it decides to dispense the 'goo'........IN A BIG RUSH....Huge dollop of goo hits hand, and sprays all over the place. (Towards me.) X_X

My glasses, face and hair should now be protected from this bloody virus for the next couple of hours. (I suppose).  =)

Cheers - Phil.

I DO use the Dremmel....Thank you so much, Ian.  ;)

(I'm still trying to figure out what I've done wrong with the 'wiring' on my 'proper/decent' stereo system.)

I need to check what I need to do, so that they'll hear it in Cardiff...... (Von still won't let me wind it up to over '1 and a teeny bit'.....Fair enough.....The house would shake to bits.) X_X

Air guitar on standby.  ;D ;D ;D

Cheers - Phil :)
