From Emma Peel to Olenna Tyrell - a varied career and a brilliant actress.

By all accounts a nice human being to boot.

And in the Detectorists, one of my favourite  TV shows and only just found out that Racheal Stirling who played her daughter in the show is actually her daughter in real life.

Very sad.  =((

T13A Out!

John Cook

Alan Minter aged 69.  One of the best middle-weight boxers the UK ever produced.  British, European and World Champion in the days when fights went 15 rounds.  Very sad.

Steve J

Toots Hibbert of Toots and the Maytals :(

Steve J

Sir Terrance Conran aged 88. Hugely influential designer that brought us Habitat, the only place to get European design until IKEA arrived.

Techno

Shame about all of those. :(

Cheers - Phil

Conran really helped improve design and cuisine in the UK - I enjoyed eating at a few of his restaurants over the years.

I like the old style reggae of Toots and the Maytals so sad to see Toots Hibbert go too.

O Dinas Powys

Another great drummer has gone to the rhythm section in the sky: Lee Kerslake, former Uriah Heep (and Ozzy Osbourne) drummer  :'(

Bit niche maybe, but I'm a huge Uriah Heep fan and was lucky enough to be at the London gig mentioned at the end of the article - it had only taken me ~32 years to finally get to see them.

With him and Diana Rigg going I'm feeling quite bereft!  :(
(I know, even though it's fantasy  :o  ;)  )

Steve J

The inventor of Gore-Tex has also passed away :(.
