I'm in a semi but fairly sure the walls are made of cardboard and the wee girl next door seems to wear lead shoes and has her volume setting permanently turned up to 11. Even at 2am. Never hear much from her partner, but she's by far the loudest neighbor we've had, and the previous residents had a baby and toddler and the ones before three boys...

One of the many reasons we're looking to move later in the year. Hopefully to somewhere without neighbors.

Very true. In fact, I still have a scar on my knee from participating in a clean-up and feed them operation after an oil spill in Cape Town. They've got quite a bite.

Amazingly I managed to push some putty around today. (Today 'I are' mostly doing fantasy armoured bears.)

Best thing I've done today ?.....Saved fifty odd quid (pounds) by not calling an electrician out to replace one of those bloomin' awful ceiling 'pull' switches in the loo (john, toilet, khazi)....It was an absolute pig to do....But I didn't electrocute myself. :D

Nobby....We don't have a 'sub station' at Techno Towers....But we do (effectively) pass on the power to 6-10 other properties.
The bit of 'kit' they replaced at the top of one of the poles on our land, apparently weighs half a ton (or tonne).....That's as much as one of the big gee-gees.....and it's only about half the size of a wheelie bin.

Gravel on our drive.....NO !.....That would slide into the road the next time it rained hard.....You know what my address is....Translate that from Welsh into English. ;)

Matthew...Move to a rural part of Wales....Our nearest neighbour is 300 yards away. ;)

Yikes! Actually, I do remember him (it was the face)! One DIY job I remember was knocking a hole in your wall beside your front door to install some kind of DIY postal box. Mad.

I believe I'm correct in saying that a certain member of the forum, whose name begins with an N and ends with a Y, had the cheek to say that my own attempts at DIY must be very similar to Reg Prescott's.

No, Mark.....Von uses the sharp stuff. ;)

I'm not even allowed to look at the chop saw.

I DO the electrics.

I can only remember two 'belts'.....Once when I made a 'strobe'....and the second was when I stuck my fingers down one of the photography studio's flash heads at GW. (I know I've mentioned this before.)

That hurt.....I forgot about capacitors holding a charge, and those things were fed by a couple of battery units that sounded like defibrillators when they were charging. ..."CLEAR !"

Today is the first day our son has been able to 'safely' go out of the house after 4 months of lockdown. He was very happy and I must admit it was weird driving into town (we would normally go by bus as he gets fee travel, but still not feeling safe with this yet) just to go shopping for non-essential items. Town was very quiet, the little we saw of it, which again is weird as it would normally be heaving on a Saturday.

Don't blame you for still not 'feeling safe.'.....We now appear to have a lot of 'invaders/grockles' in Pembrokeshire.
I do feel very conflicted....In the respect that I don't want folks who rely on the 'tourist industry' to suffer anymore....and for the folk who desperately need a 'break', NOT to have their hols.
But it worries me that folk from cities could be bringing COVID here.

The holiday makers (a lot of them) don't appear to think social distancing applies to them. (Oiks)

I don't think I'll feel properly 'safe' for a LONG time.

True, Ian :)....But (as far as I know) no-one has got within 100 yards of any of our beasties....with the possible exception of the 'postie' in the past seven months.

The lads from Western Power didn't even get close to any of them when they changed the transformer, two (very early) mornings ago. The 'labs were told' in no uncertain terms......."You are NOT going out to help.....Now, SIT & STAY !

Two of them are birthday boys today !! :)...Bless'em.
