And of course the great Bobby Robson was playing at No. 4 for Fulham at the same time.



They are in the process of building a new stand on the riverside, this one was taken from the Cottage just as they started to knock down the old one, Stevenage Road stand (now a listed building) on the right.

Do you know, Paul.....

Having looked up a lot of the old players.....I genuinely don't remember Bobby Robson..though he must have been playing when I was watching.

Names I do remember, from those days were the two 'goalies' .....Tony Macedo, and Dave Underwood.....Jimmy Langley (?)......Left back (?)......George Leggat (?).
Those were in the days when the 2/3/5 formation was the one that every team used.

Name of the Arabian desert, probaley caused by goats, but defo defoliation - so stealing the trees caused the desert
