This was my first attempt at 10mm so did not try to stick to historical colours etc. Hope  to make my Persian army that i'm working on more accurate  :)

Why do you think they aren't 'historical' colours?

They look fine to me.

It was mainly the shields and thought i'd used colours that would not have been worn. Thanks, i'm my own worse enemy when it comes to my painting.

Thanks
Steven

I'm typing up a rough guide to how i painted them so will post that later today

For infantry-
1.   White undercoat
2.   Give each figure a brown and black wash to show up the details and provide base for some colours
3.   Clothing was painted a dark tone and then highlighted once with a brighter shade
4.   Metal was painted bronze and then given a brown wash and spear tips painted a dark metal with a lighter used as a highlight
5.   Skin was painted dwarf flesh and then given a highlight of elf flesh
6.   The leather/linen armour, straps and spear hafts/bows were painted bleached bone leaving the wash in the recesses to give highlights
7.   Banners and hair on helmets were painted baal red and then highlighted blood red
All the cavalry were painted in the same way with the horses painted graveyard earth and highlighted commando khaki, leaving the wash in recesses.

That’s about all I can remember off the top of my head
