Anyone else tried this on Netflix? Couple of episodes in but a bit mixed on it. The documentary bits and the more political dramatisations are generally good but the battle scenes end up being a bit too much geared towards "Rule of Cool", e.g. the Ottomans seem to have a bit of a studded black leather fetish, the commander of the "Heavily armoured Genoese" is cavorting around the battle field with nothing but a shirt and breastplate, duel wielding his two back scabbard swords  #-o plus all the usual nonsense tropes of fire arrows, flaming torches and other such historical fantasy...

I'm not too concerned about suspension of disbelief in a silly action film and the like, that's just entertainment, but when it's presented as documentary it can be pretty jarring...

Anyone else had a similar experience, or am I being too harsh?

Started watching it but it just didn't grab me. The history bits were good but the dramatic reconstructions in between I could do without.
