About 10 miles south of central Glasgow.

The storm arrived a couple of hours (fashionably) late.
Proceeded to deliver high winds from about 15:00 and Rain around an hour later.

Sitting inside and watching the telly I can report that one rugby game was ruined, but our aerial appears to have survived.
Wind has calmed down now, but there's plenty of rain falling.

I think a second blow is expected tomorrow.

Also confirmed (as we suspected) that our old double glazing fails the Everest falling feather test. Currently calm as I write so risked taking out the wheel bins for the garbage collection tomorrow. Half expecting the contents to be strewn all over the street when I wake up tomorrow. Que sera!
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

It ain't 'arf windy here, at the mo' ! :o :o

Woke me at 5, this morning and it certainly hasn't dropped yet...I think it's supposed to get up to almost 80mph later....here, anyway...and I don't think we've got the worst of it !!

Thought I'd visit the forum while the power's still working.

The RNLI have put up a live feed from, Porthcawl www.porthcawl-lifeboat.co.uk/live-streaming/

I'm hoping no-one will be daft enough to walk down the breakwater, later. X_X
It was good while it was still quite dark......There looked to be shooting stars whizzing across the screen every so often...that or tracer bullets. :o
I imagine those must have been particular droplets of water being caught in the floodlights at the right angle, every so often.

I'm sure there'll be much more 'spectaclier' images on the news later !

Yep, blowing it's butt off here and due to get windier  mid-afternoon. No rain yet though. Got woken up by someones recycling bin blowing down the street.

Just going outside to brave the wind*  X_X.....The 'field' animals need checking =)

Can't decide whether it's a waste of effort to put any feed out for the wild birds, this morning. :-\

1) The feed's going to get blown all over the place, and probably washed away by the rain.

2) Are any of the birds actually going to be flying around this morning ?...Or are they going to be sensible (unlike me) and just hunker down ?

I think I'll put a little bit of feed down and see what happens....If the poor little sods ARE out in this, they'll need something to keep their energy levels up !

I got wet. ;D

But nowhere NEAR as waterlogged as I thought I'd get.

Very windy....But we've definitely had a lot worse, in the past. (To the point where I could barely stand upright......That wasn't the case this morning.)

The lid on one of the water butts had gone for a wander....and the biggest of the bird seed holders had done the same....few small branches down in the road. (Big twigs, rather than branches. ;))

Bit of damage to some of the slats on the barn......Another repair job in the Spring.  =)

Most of the wild birds have decided to 'stay in bed' ...a tiny handful came down, to get some grub.

Just had a quick look at that live feed......Nowhere near as 'nasty' as it was earlier......But then, the tide's going out.
Saw three people going to the very beginning of the breakwater.......and they didn't appear to get wet, at all.
One chap, who I'm sure was taking piccies,didn't get any remotely spectacular shots as far as I could tell.

I'm going to have  trawl round the net and see if I can find anymore feeds from around the coast.

Really, really windy here with the strongest gusts we've seen for over 10 years. Our neighbours fence blown down with the posts snapped off at the base. Other fences wobbling rather alarmingly. Not looking forward to cycling to work tomorrow as it'll be a head wind all of the way and it gets funneled up the Avon valley, which makes it even worse.

Wet and wild in the Midlands atm. Sounded much worse last night! No traffic which is unusual - but our fences are so far intact which is amazing as we've one panel that pops if you sneeze at it!

Good luck for tomorrow, Steve......I certainly wouldn't fancy cycling into this strength head wind.  :o

Just driven down to the local village.....Didn't really feel the little car 'slide', at all.

Looked out and mine was no longer there .....

(Later found it down the street. I had even put it on its side on the basis it was going to end up that way anyway, with the lid jammed shut. It was empty so I assume the bin men had been.)
