A complicated melee, but when the dust settled, I'd lost the rest of my horse and Alexander. My phalanxes were holding up in the centre, but with both flanks broken they'd have been living on borrowed time if army morale hadn't shattered at this stage.

One of the benefits of marrying a clever woman is that you learn humility ... I too have a lot of experience in this regard so you have my sympathies. 

But, damn it all, my first wife was the one who got her Ph. D. while I was floundering around with a teacher's diploma. I carefully married a non-academic the second time around....
