Yep - Pearl Jam were / are a better band [& still my all-time favourite band] - but Nirvana are more influential...

As an aside, I got drunk with Eddie, Stone & Jeff in New Orleans when I lived there in '93 - after a gig on their Vs tour - back in the days when I fecking looked like them

Ace of Spades: Motorhead
Supermassive Black Hole: Muse

No 6: El Tango de Roxanne from Moulan Rouge
Then the Specials and back to Led Zep...

ok the thread appears to have become 'my top bands' rather then 'most influential' so in which case my top are

10. Arctic Monkeys (token gesture towards the 21st century)

But if we really mean most influential  i'd hazard a stab at

Robert Johnson (from whom all rock music derives)

Led Zep
Sex Pistols
The Smiths

ps. i also hate Queen

I'd second the Robert Johnson vote - pity he gets the 'blues' label and not enough people know of his genius!
