Thank you all. I am finding it interesting that it seems a common thought about the clowns being creepy! I hear it a lot, but hadn't thought of them that way. Actually, my being a zombie story fan I have over the years purchased a lot of zombie figures, of which these clowns are part of. They are intended to serve as zombies as purchased, but also seemed to work fine as living people, and since the fun theme of The Purge is a Halloween type theme where the baddies dress up and wear masks, etc. that seemed a perfect use for them (and the cheerleaders), as I didn't see a clown as a zombie I would want to do. They are made from a single pose casting that I tried to modify each a little, but the middle guy with the hunting knife on a broom handle is the stock figure with the weapon added. The cheer leaders are also sold as zombies.

Finished two more elements for the Purge - the "Smileys" and the Government Troops. Only leaves three to go, and it's finished. The buildings for the Stronghold arrived, so I'll start working on them too.

The "Smileys" - Mercenary troops brought in to help reduce the lower income families so the government doesn't have to take care of them!!! (Told you the scenario of the movies is appalling!!!) Sadly, the smiling faces painted on their Balaclava don't show up very well, but in person it make them very creepy looking.

The "Smileys" from a screen shot of the movie.

The Federal troops, brought in for the same reason as the Mercenaries. They are basically overall black, but in reality are painted a black-gray, shaded with true black and highlighted with a medium gray and then in a few key areas a lighter medium gray.

Another element finished for this army - The Beast element, some punks of the "Heart Bleeders" gang with their mutts!! The center puppy is what is called a Tiger Boxer. Had never heard of it, but in seeking info ran across it and had to do that one. Not sure what the other two are supposed to be so I did one as a sheep dog and the other a a black mutt whose owner painted him as a skeleton for Purge Night.

Great work once again and the tiger boxer looks like it's wearing a fancy dress skeleton suit, making it really fit in with the whole theme 8).

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words. I have really been having fun doing this army, even though it is keeping me from some other commitments. I think what makes it so much fun is the Halloween aspect of masks and costumes that are a prominent part of the movies/story line.

Here's a picture of a Tiger Boxer, which I used as the reference.

And, here's the reference I used for the black dog whose owner painted up as a skeleton.

Working on the "Bird Watchers" now ans they will be very colorful, but are also a big challenge  -You'll see what I mean shortly.

When I first looked at the figures, I though it was a black hyena but after reading post see what you did, your source picture was hilarious.
Of the three dogs, "skeletor" is my favorite.

One more element finished, and this actually gives me a 24 point army, so it could be ready for play. However, I am going to do another Warband element.

This element is my "Bird Watchers", and probably the craziest of all the elements, but I was always fascinated by these Peter Pig figures, and ordered hem with no real plan in mind. However, once I got into this project I decided...why not! They are very colorful and to keep that colors bright like I did with the clowns, I hand painted the shadows and highlights. They are based on actual birds, that I got from my copy of Peterson's. Left to right, they are - an Eastern Bluebird, a Western Tanager and a Painted Bunting. These guys are played as a Warband.

Nice work Terry and I like the idea of using bird colours/markings as inspiration.
