Hi all!

My name is Thomas and I have been a wargames painter for quite some time now! I paint mostly 15mm with the occasional 28mm fig trown in.
A few weks ago I decided to start a AWI project using the wonderful (at least the book) Black Powder rules. After some research on the net (you know, the thing that keeps you from painting) I went to order some sample packs of the Pendraken AWI range and these did arrive yesterday (Thanks!!!).
And what wonderful miniatures they are  :x
Today I started with the first unit of militia and a mounted Officer, just to see if I could paint in this small scale! And what should I say? They paint up so very easily!
I'll post a few pics in the next days, just to give back some inspiration I recieved from this forum! (Thanks again)

Cheers,
Thomas

Hi Thomas, and a warm welcome to the mad house Pendraken Miniatures Forum, and to 10mm wargaming in general.

10mm can get pretty addictive and all consuming   :-$

Have fun and all the best,

Hi Thomas,

Aren't 10mm wonderful. Been enjoying the little blighters for the past twenty years and these days you can't get much better than Pendraken in this scale - variety of periods and quality. Welcome to the Forum.

Thank you!!
ATM I'm thinking about starting my AWI-Collection with the forces for Cowpens, Small Forces that will get me (and eventually a buddy of mine) gaming pretty fast. The only thing I can't find are mounted militia. I understand that they might be comming, but I need them (or a stand-in) a little sooner. What minis would you suggest using as stand ins? I was thinking ACW- generic Cav for the horses and some spare riflemen and militia for the dismounted riders? Any ideas?

Welcome Thomas. I'm sure you won't regret the investment into 10mm unless, it's that you didn't do so earlier!  :D

I'm not really sure what to recommend here.  The AWI are a completely different style of figure to the ACW's (and much better sculpted!), so they wouldn't really look right.  If you pop the question on the main Forum, in the 'General Pendraken' board, we'll get you some more options.
