COAT !! ;D

Hooray....Feel 'half normal'...The alarm only went off once, at half past four this morning, and I was half awake then.....And that's been the only time.

It IS a big rough at the mo' Forbes.

There's only about three hours of the night, when both Von and I are asleep. Von's a night owl & and I'm an early bird.....Unfortunately, recently, that's the time you hear the appalling BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP which continues for about two minutes....If one of us doesn't stick our head 'through the door'.....MIL presses the button again.

When I saw the Doc yesterday, I mentioned that we're caught between asking for the MIL to be prescribed some sort of sleeping pill......but thinking that would probably mean she'd fall over and end up in hospital again.

We'll get through it !

Cheers - Phil

Well there is an obvious solution - "Hide the Button"  ;D

Simpler solution is to just switch off the power to the main alarm.....But Von won't let me do that, Mark.

I can't lie......and say I haven't been tempted, tho'......especially when I'm really really tired, and horribly grumpy...which is most of the time at the moment.

What makes us think that MIL is 'putting it on', is that she CAN get herself out of bed.

From talking to my own Doc, late yesterday morning, Matt.

'They' reach a point where they don't care 'a poop' at all.....and basically 'p*ss' you about.

Don't blame you at all....But it makes you feel guilty, doesn't it ? :(

Cheers - Phil

Matt J

No not really, he'd be much better off, loads of other crazy people to talk to and be totally looked after.

True, Matt !

We'll have to sort something out for her sometime soon, as well, I reckon

At least Von & I got a whole night's snooze last night.....No alarm calls, at all. <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P

And, with luck, she won't have b*ggered the coax cable for the first time in a week.
I've been getting a little teed off, repairing that, every day.

I know she got herself out of bed early this morning, as I could hear her TV on at half five.
Stroll on I feel so much more 'with it' now. (Which isn't saying much, obviously) :P :D

Cheers - A slightly less grumpy Phil  ;)

I will just HAVE to mention.........

Because I knew the MIL was up already......I thought....."She's probably suffering.....I'll take all her pills (including the  painkillers) in now, before I do a quick 'bun run' into Cardigan.

"I've been pressing the alarm  button for ages, " said she.

"Didn't hear a thing, Mum."....said I.....The battery on the second pendant was flat....(Somebody likes us, then.)

Picked up her morphine patches, this morning.......Fekk knows what that's going to do to her already muddled mind.
Going to have to make sure that we stick the first patch, where she won't be able to remove it....She'll try...I just know it !!...Right on her shoulder looks like the best option.

I can see a trip into Accident and Emergency on the horizon, fairly soon.
I think the patches are going to completely 'zonk' her out.

Cheers - Frayed at the edges.....again.

Techno

We're not risking the patch today.  X_X

MIL's so confused , now, she thinks we're going to the hospital today....("No, Mum....that was two days ago ")  Goodness knows what it'll be like when the morphine kicks in, tomorrow.

The second 'button' is now repaired, with a new battery......

I know I'm going to regret that.

Thanks, Paul.

Another whole night's sleep, without the alarm going off !* :)

Mind you, I can't hear her TV on at the mo'...so I'd better stick my head through the door soon (after opening it, I hasten to add.) :D
She did say last night that she wasn't in anything like as much pain.....So we may be cowards and avoid putting the morphine patches on, just yet.

Cheers - Phil

(*...Though I did keep waking up, because the wind was HOWLING around the house last night....When I chucked the dogs out, it looked as though we'd had a tiny bit of snow...Though it might be those ting little 'sleet balls' that have come down.)
