At work, using apprentices I've designed and built a ww1 male tank with a colleague at work, its approx 1,100mm long, 820mm high.  Spur of the moment at work on Tuesday(College last week of term).  Hopefully Leon reads this and can put up the picture I emailed him(just asked him nicely).  This shows it without the sponsons, nearly finished those today - the development work on the shapes slowed me down - I'll get another picture on Tuesday.  Its made from 1mm low carbon steel plate using my template and pattern development skills :D

What a cracking project. If just ONE of those apprentices goes off to learn a bit more about her then you done a wonderful job.

To paraphrase Haig: "She's lovely. I'll take a thousand".

Dave

The latest the right hand sponson has now been completed, left hand side to do. :D

 Brilliant  :)

A 1.1m long tank would certainly be an imposing site on your average games table....or are you planning on running an outdoor 1/6 scale refight of Cambrai?
"Do you think thats wise Sir?"

Superb!

Cheers, we are using washers etc to approximate different features on the tank, need two lewis guns to complete the model.  Nearly finished other sponson.

Great work 8)

Thanks, it looks the biz, just got to be careful not to over detail it.

Latest pics of the tank finished detailing the back just some extra work on the sides to finish off and then off to the paint shop.

a) Very good work. Look forward to seeing it painted.
b) How heavy is it? Looks solid.
c) When will it be motorised?
d) This isn't going in the painting competition is it? I mean I suppose it's a Pendraken product ...
