Oh come on! My painting isn't that bad! 

This is how life abuses poor Nobby.

Having painted many, many tiny aircraft, Niobby decides to abandon the "brmm brmm bang bang" era* and go for some "clip clop swish swish". Nobby is tired of the cutting and the wetting and the poking around with sharp instruments, and also of putting tiny decals on tiny aeroplanes. Nobby decides to paint some hoplites which had been stashed away for far too long. Lots of lovely bronze and spears and big shields and it looks as if they're not going to get revamped this decade. So Nobby paints the bronze and the white armour and the tunics and the nodding plumes ... then remembers that Nobby bought lots of tiny decals for the shields. 

Poor Nobby. What a pillock.

Nope, sorry, Will...the Mk 10 is still in the drying pot...and gathering dust  ......But in another month (or less) I reach State Pension age....So a month after that, I'll have some sort of free time because I'll be getting some free money.

There is a fourth era one before those mentioned.  It is defined by Mrs Orcs for the Ancient and Medieval periods (I have given up trying to explain the differences). In TV programs and films of these periods there is generally a lot of sex (of a rough nature) and fighting, and she does not think there is much difference between the two activities. So in our house it is known as :-

Surely the earliest era is

tramp rumble thump clang - foot or chariots for transport and a mix of throw sticks, clubs and bronze spears & axes

I'm pretty sure sex sounds much the same in every era

The FSN painting machine rolls on!*

40 SF troopers, plus 6 artillery pieces completed yesterday, plus the Greek hoplites (54) and a start made on 3 Carthaginian war elephants plus 30 slingers.

To be honest, a lot of what I've been doing is finishing off abandoned batches. The SF troopers required a wash and a base. The Centurion Mk1's just needed a bit of detailing.

Still, I've been very productive and quite pleased with what I've done with my 2 weeks of holiday. 



*I know the results look like the paint has been applied with a roller, but I do actually use a brush ... well three for paint. Only one at a time, obviously.

What's an SF trooper?
