I once dropped and broke a bottle of Angostura bitters. A sad waste, but the experience of just standing and breathing it was heavenly.

Finished another finished project! 1940 Battles of France/Britain in 1:600 aircraft.

Luftwaffe *Boo!* Bf109, Bf110, Do17e, Ju87, Ju88 and He111- 72 a/c

British aircraft 1940 *Huzzah*- Spitfires, Hurricanes, Battles, Blenheims and Hampdens - 54 a/c

Yes, I know the RAF are glossy and the Luftwaffe are satin. There's a very good reason ... which I'm not feeling like sharing.

What next? Well, thanks to Minibits  and i94, I can finish off my Korean war a/c (39 North Korean, 20 USAF, 20 USN) ... then I think I'll be a little done with tiny aeroplanes for a while. I've still got a 1944 British bomber stream to paint (Lancaster, Stirling and Halifaxes) and a airborne force (Dakotas, Hamilcars and Horsas) and lots of Pacific war, both 1942 and 1944. If Dom ever manages to deliver his Decals, I'll also have Viet Nam. Ohh, and I've still got some 1960s Cold War to do. I think my ability to buy outstrips my ability to paint.  :(  Anyway, I'm putting tiny aeroplanes aside ... oh and I've got to redo the Med 1942 forces that I painted quite badly ... but I'll be putting aside tiny aircraft for now. And some WWI aircraft ... shouldn't forget them ...

Anyway, on my painting table are some animals - sheep, cows, pigs - that I found whilst tidying up. I think I may have ordered a batch from Pendraken, and when it arrived, put it safely aside. Then forgot about it and ordered another batch ... which I laid carefully aside ... and finally a third. There is no guarantee that there may be others lying somewhere in my lead mountain.

Then ... well I've been buying quite a bit of Napoleonics, so I think it'll be Punic Wars.  :D

Congrats on finishing the project - always good see it all lined up and ready go. I know the LEGO is for storage (and a great idea) but do you use it for game play also?

For many of us our ability to buy outstrips our ability to paint (  or what is heaven for :)  ) - it help support the hobby after all.

Thanks chaps!

I'm still experimenting with the Lego in games. I put a flight on a base, and can use small piece to indicate height/speed etc.

What I'm trying to do is to put some texture n the bases to hide the Lego dots, but leave the functionality.

Yes, for in game use hiding the Lego look would be important. Wood filler will probably work well for this, put some 1 pip round pieces of lego on the pegs you want to keep, then gloop wood filler around the rest of the base, you can texture this a bit as well.

My question is, when did I buy fluorescent paints?  :o English Uniform,  Luftwaffe Cam Green, fluorescent Orange? Doesn't go.

I don't think Leon did an Ocado and substituted my Olive Green with florescent yellow.  :-

I don't think we've done any substitutions, but there's always the chance a customer at a show has put a flourescent pot in the wrong location on the paint rack and then someone's packed your order without realising?  Let me know if it's an error at our end and we'll get a replacement sent out.

To be clear I have not received fluorescent paints from pendraken. Of that I am sure.

Where the fluors came from? Not a Scooby. Could I have bought a pack from elsewhere with them in?

Anyway, my question was more to do with using them. What have others used fluorescent for?

So the score is 60 sheep, 40 cows, 10 pigs. I've left the ducks and chiickens for later. Thought I might add the dogs to command groups and the like.

Also, since I've been very productive 40 Carthaginian veterans, 8 misc repurposed as Trojan War heroes, 12 1:600 a/c (P47 & P51) to cover the bomber stream, 2 battering rams and 2 Centurion 1's from a 7th Armoured Brigade HQ.

Currently working on some more Trojan War heroes, and a chunky Hoplite phalanx.

Very productive time.

You are being very productive, fsn, busting things out left and right.
I like the Pendraken zoo and have taken to scattering the creatures. great and small,  all over the playing surface. They also make great markers for all sorts of things as well. :-

One dog to command a unit of ten sheep prehaps, or a unit of three cows as the heavies? You could add a pig as an intelligence officer (and I mean no disrespect as pigs are really quite bright!). You omitted cats which would make excellent recce officers (assuming they'll actually come back to report). And don't forget the bunnies - naturally born company runners!

Wait...I may have misintpreted what you intend.  :-\
