C'mon! You must have seen the Wizard of Oz :o

Its on every easter and christmas if you can be bothered to look hard enough :'(
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I've seen bits of it, but never bothered to sit down and watch it all the way through!

Pendraken should make some Oz figures.  Flying monkeys, Emerald guard, etc... :D

hi nikharwood,

I was just looking in admiration at the bases on your colonial space marines; I simply adore the mottled grey affect you`re getting. How do you DO that?

My own efforts are pretty feeble by comparison I`m afraid:

Thanks ssd - basically it's this:

Glue figures to MDF base
PVA onto base - dip in sand /grit mix - let dry
Seal with diluted PVA - let dry
Spray undercoat black
Wetbrush Dark Grey = Black & Grey mix 60:40
Drybrush Mid Grey = Black & Grey mix 40:60
Drybrush Light Grey = Cold Grey
Wash with 'Magic' wash = Klear [floor polish] & water & Brown Ink 40:40:20
Drybrush Light Grey = Cold Grey
Final light dryrbush = Cold Grey & White 50:50

Seems like a lot to do - but you'll get depth in your basing & it's easily done in front of the TV  8)

Wow thanks for that nik.... no no, your explanation makes it easy to follow , and I`ll try it out in front of the TV next time I watch Buffy hehe.

Can`t wait to try it out actually.

All the best, and thanks for your kind reply.

You're more than welcome - glad to help - not sure I could do this while watching Buffy though - I'd be far too distracted  ;) ;D

Well, I know the episodes by heart, so can use my imagination lol.

Take care mate,

Excellent Nik.

I've just stocked up and was wondering how to paint these little xenomorph critters...   :D

I was planning;

Black undercoat
Boltgun metal drybrush (light dusting)
Blue ink wash (50:50 with water)

Having see yours though i'm not sure now!

What colours did you use on your marines?
