Apparently the Children's Library didn't stock Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, books on mummification in Ancient Egypt or Jane's Fighting Ships 1942 as a regular thing and the staff got fed up trotting across the hall to the Adult section and explaining that, Yes! They were sure the child in question really would read these things! :)

I had something similar being a full member of the Adult Library at about 11.

Found the authors  Sven Hassel and leo Kesssler among others

I went through Sven Hassell's oeuvre as a teenager. I remember one rainy weekend, my mother was at a loss and read one of his books.

I think it was about that time she started turning grey.   :D

I'm certainly living in "Interesting times".

I hadn't mentioned all the fun we're having with the gee-gees.

Thank goodness Hippy is fairly sanguine, and doesn't piddle about too much.

Thanks, Will...Appreciated. :)

Congrats, General! 'Cause here (the land across the sea, a bit south and west of Ireland) we would be "Generals". I am still disappointed and many, many posts yet to go to the real deal.
