No.....He appears to have thought that holding back that information gave him some sort of power...and that that meant he 'won'.
He also believed that the crimes he was convicted of were 'trivial'.

I remember him from 'The Persuaders' with Tony Curtis, which I used to enjoy. Not my favourite Bond, but a great raconteur with a dry, self deprecating wit about him.

This may sound strange ... but I remember best his performance in "The Spice Girls Movie".

With Meatloaf.

Definitley not my favourite Bond, but thought he was great (if a little animated for Sir Roger) in "North Sea Hijack" as bad tempered, woman hating, tapestry-doing, cat loving, marine commando ffoukes. Also "Wild Geese", and  "The Sea Wolves".

He was great in The Cannonball Run as well
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

I also remember him in 'The Persuaders' with Tony Curtis which was on Sundays if I remember correctly.

He also did a lot of valuable charity work.
