I recently play tested a Lion rampant scenario I've been working on. We played through twice, swapping roles and had great fun. The revised scenario is on my blog http://grahamsgaming.blogspot.co.uk/

That looked good fun. Only played Lion Rampant once - it was essentially an introduction to the rules courtesy of my hosts on fairly featureless terrain and whilst I enjoyed it, the straight 'head to head' left me feeling that something was missing. However, your game with objectives, period buildings, etc. has peaked my interest again (although, being a black powder era wargamer, I think I may be more inclined to go for The Pikeman's Lament).   
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

LR is a simple and fun set of rules, but that simplicity does mean that straight 1on1 "kill everything" games can feel a bit lacking somehow (and I think that is true of all Dan's rules in the LR stable, Dragon Rampant, The Men Who Would Be Kings and The Pikeman's Lament). They work best with scenarios and the simple mechanics mean it's easy to tweak the troop types or add in special rules for a specific scenario. Their simplicity and speed of play also make it easy to play with multiple players and I've had a lot of fun devising scenarios for LR and TMWWBK. I haven't played The Pikeman's Lament yet, but it looks good and has prompted me to get on with finishing off my Poles, Imperialists and Ottomans.

Enjoyed reading through your scenario, Sunjester. It seems well thought out and having multiple (and differing) objectives looks like it would be a great deal of fun to play. Have not used LR but about to start messing around with Pikeman's Lament. Your report has fired me up further to get on with it.

Whilst I'm sure I could hazard guesses, could anyone familiar with both Lion and Dragon Rampant post which troop types correspond (or closest approximations) from the two version of the rules please.
