I have really enjoyed this thread because my local friend and gamer, David Crenshaw, and I are doing some 10 MM ACW armies for a much excited visit from friend Pete Duckworth of Coventry. When I was there Pete took me to three battlefields where we re-fought the battles (Bosworth, Naseby and Edgehill), so David and I are going to do the same for Pete with the Battle of Stones River, here in my city.

Your work has been very inspirational, and the figures look truly great!

Thanks!

Happy to send you pictures of my own 6mm buildings with 10mm Pendraken miniatures if you wish (PM me with your e-mail address).

Thanks for the offer Westmarcher, very much appreciated, but it isn't necessary. As it happens I've used 6mm buildings in the past with Pendraken's WW2, when I used to play BKC 1st ed., so I'm happy with using the smaller buildings. The group has to decide what they want to go with - 6mm or 10mm buildings when the toys get brought together for a big game - and as I bought some 6mm from Baccus, after speaking to Leman at the York show last year, I've said I'll paint mine up and then they can be compared with what Bodvoc has in 10mm at a future club meet.
Thanks again.  :)

I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

You're welcome.

Right - found the revised fire results table.

Basically because of the way shooting is worded I reworked it to make it so you can hit multiple targets- in some circumstances if you had a unit next to a unit in cover you wouldn't be able to hit either because of the need to target both, and when firing at a continuous line it wasn't clear how you inflicted casualties.  I also worked in some mods from the rules into the table itself so they didn't get forgotten, but it should be exactly the same overall to hit number in these cases.

How the new firing rules work.
You declare targets.  You MUST fire at any unit within 'flank lines' - ie the area formed by extending the edges of the firing unit directly forward.  You MAY fire at anyone within the arc given in the rules.

Roll and modify dice as per the rules (but with new mods table) - note this total.

You first hit the unit that has the lowest to hit score.  Give that unit a hit, subtract the To Hit Score from the total.  Hit the unit with the next Lowest too hit score. Subtract from running total.

Keep going until the remaining score is less than the Hit target of the next unit in sequence.

If you hit all targets, go back to the first target and repeat.

Where two targets have the same to hit score hit the most obvious one - closest/most central/biggest threat/etc - you should both be able to agree this.

Example  Targets have To Hit Values of 4, 4 and 5
You roll 9

Apply this to the lowest target (4), as there are two, the closets etc one.  First target is hit.  Running score is now 9-4=5.
Next target is also a 4 It takes a hit.  Running total is now 5-4=1.

Next target is a 5.  1 isn't enough to inflict a hit.  Firing ends there

Fire at these three targets - 4, 4, 5. and score 17
Hit on first '4'. Leaving 13
Hit on Second '4', leaving 9
Hit on the '5', leaving 4
No more targets, but 4 left over, so start again with the first unit.  Just enough on that to inflict a second hit.
