Happy to report that i hit my '100 models in 2 weeks' mark just now!

mordor orc archers, metal mordor orcs and warg riders


converted warg riders


3 metal orcs (the ones with shield will be used as captains)


the archers, painted like a rag tag bunch,with various skin tones


Excuse me for the less than optimal pictures, couldn't get the light to cooperate!

So 7 archers, 3 metal orcs and 5 warg riders= 15 models

Models finished= 102 

At about 1/4th of last ears output 


Now if only that flock would arrive so i can start finishing the bases...

The biggest problem i'm having is reisting the urge to buy more models 

Nice work, Peter,

For the photo's, you might try using a piece or two of white card, to , 'reflect' some of the light into the front of the soldiers.
That's probably help.

Great work, the rag tag bunch is how Tolkien orcs should be!

If your camera has a "fill in flash" that may also be useful - or covering your flash with greaseproof paper to diffuse the light.

Thanks for the tips, i usuallt put them on white paper, but as it was 2 AM, i was no longer in the mood to make a 'photo booth'

Just won an ebay lot with 400 + € worth of models for 93. Too good a bargain to let it pass.

So, little update.

I have not abandoned my quest just yet, but being back at the job has slowed me down as was expected. to make matters even slower, i am painting the remainder of my mordor orcs, and am trying to make each one unique. So lots of different browns,greens and khaki, but hoping that the end result will be worth it!

just finished the last of the clothing, will start weapon shafts, shields and skin next. After that a lot of washing in different tones to try and differentiate them even further.

Bases painted, highlighted, detailed, edged and pva sealed. 🐋(Couldn't find a seal, will a whale do?)
Lots of bases...

Goblins probably hate bright light, anyway.
