Rapid Fire - not really new, but convinced myself to try them again and realised why I disliked them so much first time around

My 28mm terrain collection - Last Valley Hedgerows and trees and a boatload of 28mm Buildings from 4ground

My Vespa PX125 70th Anniversary Limited Edition Scooter at £3400  :D Best fun I've had n years

Sharp Practice

Difficult to say but probably around the 500 mark - mainly 28mm stuff

I had a real cull this year. Sold at least half of everything wargaming I own which funded my terrain collection, my shiny new Vespa and paid for Christmas and 50th Birthday presents for my good lady. Made almost £6000 in total.

10: would you review your year as a good year of wargaming, or did you want more?
A good year - more nights at the club for a start, but always keen for more
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Sold off my 28mm Romans - they were never going to get painted in my lifetime

This was an excellent wargaming year, although I would like to have painted twice as many figures - had two big mojo periods. Only misfire was Itlsu which was happily corrected by the purchase of Contemptible Little Armies. Most enjoyable games played this year were BBB, HOW, TtS, Contemptible Little Armies, FOB2, Basic Impetus 2

Hopes for the future - more Square Bashing, Altar of Freedom, FPW and APW, TtS Italian Wars.

A very old school 1970s-style clunky ACW ruleset.

A card game, Duel - nothing wrong with the game except that my regular opponent didn't like it.

BBB of course! In particular, battles from the Hungarian War of Independence 1848-1849, and Konstantinos Travlos's magnificent series of scenarios for the Balkan Wars 1912-1913. Hopefully I will get to these in 2017.

Zero - these days time spent painting is time I could be either gaming or researching/writing scenarios.

I gave away Duel.

An excellent year, the highlight being the inaugural BBB Bash Day convention back in April. We've got such a good group going that there are always games to be played and players around, so I get a game in most weeks. The Oxford Wargames Society is thriving. Come on down!

I bought some resin figures which were expensive and I think will break easily. 11Euros for 6. I bought about 9 packs of various types – none broken yet though.

Not bad. I didn't get to the club as much as I'd have liked due to other commitments, but thanks go to my club mates who came round to me for games which made up for it.

One Hour Wargames. Too simple for my tastes, but his other books are excellent IMHO.

Some 'old school' wargmaes books by Wesencraft, Featherstone et al.

None that I can think of.

Pendraken WWII Polish and no I didn't; they are lovely figures and vehicles.

Bloody Big Battles.

Less than 100 I reckon. My painting mojo has been poor all year long.

Chain of Command and some 28mm scenery that I no longer have any need for.

A good year but patchy on the gaming front due to the usual clash of work & family commitments limiting gaming time. I wish I had more time to paint, but the aforementioned issues kept cropping up.

Whilst I've enjoyed the few miniatures games I've played, a computer game, Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy - 'Closing the Pocket' scenario was the most fun.

All of them (except the worse purchase)

A 'new' tin of Humbrol paint that turned out to be half empty when I opened it!

About 120 figures/items, mainly 15mm, the rest 10mm.

None - but have been toying with selling all of my 6mm buildings (but should probably build up a collection 10mm buildings first)

Fairly satisfactory. Good start to the year. Visit to Vapnartak galvanised me into embarking on a 4 month painting (and re-basing) frenzy (well, by my standards). Visited Brandywine, Antietam and Gettysburg battlefields, Valley Forge, Philadelphia and Fort McHenry. Finished with a SYW painting spurt and 3 games of HoW in the last month of the year. Always want more.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
