Mine is a freshly painted and varnished Republican Roman principes with pila (ARR3) who has just jumped off his base and disappeared between two floorboards somewhere between the garage and my painting table; never to be seen again!!!
At least I assume that's what's happened, either that or he's been eaten/swept up/trod on/deserted.
Good thing I always paint a few spares.

I still have not found the 15mm modern Africa figure that fell off its painting stick while being varnished.  I have looked all over the floor in the my Den and I cannot find him.  No one else goes in there so he must have gone AWOL

Minor one: a head with a Mounmouth cap undoubtedly gone forever (possible it is now being worshipped by a group of small spiders)

A 3mm artilleryman has vanished without trace. No surprise there then.

not a disaster, just a giant ball ache. threading thread through drilled out figure's hands to make a charioteer look like he's holding reins. would they thread through easily? course not. stupid things.

Roy, you may already be doing this but did you try waxing the thread? Gives it enough body to make threading less difficult.

thanks d_guy. I wasn't doing that, nor had thought to try, so will try to remember your suggestion for next time.

problem was that the drilled out hole wasn't exactly large - I'd already smashed out the sculpted hand and had to resculpt with green stuff - so one strand of thread was contacting the other and blocking. anyway, I got there in the end. 

And apparently one can also wax lyrical.

I tend to wain lyrical.
