But as you mention Forts I am keep looking for an old Airfix Fort Sahara that is complete and not costing an arm and a leg.

This is a little Ironic as my cousin has leased the Fort below for 25 years from the Ghanaian Government.

No sure.  He does a lot of church related charity work in Ghana. when he is there he projects Children's  films onto the walls of the castle  on Saturday night for the locals kids to watch. 

He is a bit of a colourful characters and has a reputation for being un-orthodox.  He was the farmer who built his house behind hay bales and was all over the news. Its now demolished.

I went there for his Mums funeral. To my delight his yard is full of REAL ARMOURED VEHICLES. Lots of FV432's a T55 and a FV432 converted to look like a Stug lll.  One of the companies that rents a barn converts and restores them. Unfortunately I was in a suit and was unable to clamber around.  :(

I did have a good look, but they were absolutely filthy, some were I works in progress so had some nasty looking edges, and there was no one to ask permission of. I think they had taken the day off as  he had the wake at his place.

Maybe I should have known better, but I've had a long week, and this time of year always unsettles me.

I went shopping after work, and came home, arms laden. Of course, the cats were there to welcome me, lying in front of my feet and impeding my progress. At this point, I began channeling my late grandfather who was a crofter, and I started giving the cats sheep-dog instructions.

"Go up by."
"Come on in."
"Up, up". 
"Get up and lie down."

These instructions did not clear the cats from my path, but on the upside, I know know the sound of cats laughing.

I think the "Get up and lie down" command must have flummoxed them.

A bit like the Glasgow Clippie (Bus Conductress, d-guy) shouting at the drunk who's stepping onto the bus, "C'moan, g'aff!" (come on, get off).   :)

I'll have to be really careful about not cutting myself for a while now.
Just been diagnosed with probable/possible DVT.....(I was blaming my hefferlump sized left leg on the Blood pressure pills I've been taking)......Got  to have something called a Doppler scan at the hospital tomorrow.....and hope they can see a/some clots....which will then mean I'll be on some new 'warfarin' type pills for months.

I'm SO happy !!

Doppler scan ... that the one where they strap you to the front of a train and listen to the change in your screams as you approach and recede? ;)

Yes, Phil, by all means take care of yourself and best wishes.

My wife dealt with this once - blood thinner and support stockings - bit of a pain  - but it has all worked out.

Make sure that you are SECURELY strapped to that engine!  :)

Based on the scan they did on me when they suspected a DVT a few months ago it is a straightforward ultrasound scan

The Doppler bit is where they measure blood flow by pressing and then releasing on the blood vessels with the ultrasound 'head'

Of course they have to press most on the most sensitive areas of your leg

I hope you get it sorted soon
