My Austrians have been badly outscouted, which is an unwelcome beginning, if reasonably accurate.

Prussians repulsed, but it wasn't easy. Lessons learned: 1) Massing cuirassiers on one flank is effective, but expect a hard fight on the other side! 2) Accept that there will be heavy losses in the firefight. Plan for this. 3) Columns in range of enemy artillery are a bad idea. 4) Remember that even Old Fritz lost more than a few battles.

I assume you are talking about march columns, as there was very little fighting in columns in the SYW.

Certainly. But you can march much faster in column, and if you're in a hurry to get into action the temptation to do it in a crocodile formation (not a SYW term, outsiders!) is strong. Naturally you deploy into line for real fighting; these are soldiers, not the uniformed rabble of half a century later.

What's involved in unloading the now redundant, and rather larger, 6mm SYW armies? I'm an ebay virgin....

So am I, but I believe you have to submit photos of your armies before you can sell them. And of course eBay takes a commission.
