That looked great, apart from the mounted knight pieces, which I thought were disappointingly nondescript compared to all the other elements in the game.

Looks great!

Your miniatures look good to! Should be very nice when they get to full armies!

Enjoyed the report. Look forward to seeing your scale-up to miniatures. Like that you have the possibility of catastrophic penalties for commiting the CinC to direct combat. Incidently, given your name, do you have an emotional attachment to William's side?  :)
Encumbered by Idjits, we pressed on

Ah - there's a thought. I should have a Norman army in every scale and play that side with very big dice, while giving the Anglo-Saxon player one of those 5mm mini dice things.

Thanks all - a fun play.

In all the fuss and palaver about the 950th, we've had mention of changes in the language, architecture and so on, but as yet no mention of the bloody class system we're still stuck with and the pseudo-Normans still running the country.

Bravo - good to see the anniversary being marked and some serious history in action.

I got to fight Hastings with real Normans a couple of weeks ago:

(Yes, they made me play the Saxons. Yes, I lost.)

Indeed. LWA ran Hastings at the Liverpool Museum as a participation game last month.
