Excuse my ignorance but did Indian Tribe's in the FIW use/live in teepees?

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

These long houses were known as wigwams, the name often given incorrectly to tepees.

I thought the wigwams were the circular huts rather than the long houses

although I agree the term has been badly abused in the past.

Leman

I know some were circular and some were long, but it's a long time, over 50 years,  since I learned I was using the wrong word for tepees. I remember at the time being told that wigwams were what the eastern tribes in 'Hawkeye' lived in. Now that was a great little boys TV programme.

Hello Nosher.

Below id a pic of a reconstructed wigwam at Plimouth Plantation:-

With some careful painting of the original hide to resemble reeds you might be able to get away with the Mongol yurts:-

Otherwise there is a b&w pdf of a card model of an Iroquois longhouse here http://www.susankae.com/Iroquois%20longhouse.pdf

What about the inside of a Kinder egg for the wigwam. I used them to make a 10mm mesolythic hunters village.
Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

Tried something similar for Zulu huts a few years ago. Didn't hold paint well.

I covered mine in tissue paper first before painting.

The bigger one is from another similar thing. I was going to do lots of different colours but couldn't be bothered.

Might be worth coming back to. They do pretty textiles, those people.

Sorry - still thinking (if I may use the word) of aboriginal Americans.
