Jut a quick try-out before i start buying other stuff, looks a bit plain, but i'm keeping it simple; it's about trying the rules:

Thanks!

These rules play nice and smooth, already have a nice exchange going on!

End of game. only french forces left are the artillery and a unit of foreign troops on the hill in the distant corner. everything around the centre hill has been wiped away by the british, but they lost over half their force in the process!

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Looks good to me. Sadly the rules are going for £30 plus on Amazon at present, so they will stay there at that price :o

Thanks for that Peter. That's the kick to the butt I need to complete Langensaltza.

'Welcome!  <)

This whole game got me thinking, what if i just skip buying in another scale and get more 2 mm  :-\

I guess having your infantry in line doesn't look good if they are 4 separate blocks. I think i will play this one again using my 40x20 acw bases. That will give me an idea how it will look in 10mm.

Thanks!

The best part about it, there's still plenty of room for more troops on that table  8-}

What about BG 33 ? It's 56 men in 2 ranks

I really should have got a couple when I last ordered from Irregular so I could say what they're like.

Hello

BG33 :

I was thinking about making "double bases"... need time to paint...  :(

petercooman

Yes i noticed that one. 34mm wide and 4 deep. Should be ok, but i really want to do it in a bigger scale. The uniforms are just fun to paint.

also, this site has all the measurements of the irregular blocks:

Wow, that's pretty cool Peter.  I kinda like the idea of having different bases for different formations, i.e., each unit has a base in line, column, and square.  There's only one base on the table at a time, and you just plunk down the one to represent their current formation.  Very interesting...

Yes that would work!

bt i mainly use my 2mm for "2by2", wich assumes the unit to take the best formation autmaticaly, so it's not that big of a problem for me.

Also, for the BG33 piece, forgot to mention that i use 30X15 bases, and the BG33 is too big for that.

Leman

My 2mm stuff is on mostly 25x25, but all frontages are 25mm so I am constrained in the same way, but as I use them for BBB there's not too much of a problem.
