Cheers Roy!

It's actually a very nicely done kit, assembles quite pleasantly. I've had worse assembly with fiddly 1/144th Zvesda etc. I'd sort the carapace first before doing the grab bars and stuff if there's a next time. Made attempting to mask straight lines a right sod but I got carried away :D Paintig time wasn't bad once I cracked on, it was decided how much to assemble then mask & paint and what to do on the sprue then stick on and finish that was tricky.

Price is indeed £85 from 'Workshop but I'm told you can get considerably cheaper with some judicious web cruising, an they've also just released a two Knight model boxed fighting game that's on for @£120, which I've seen discounted down to @£90 or so. If you're feeling like a real megalomaniac and need multiple foot tall war machines :D

Great looking 2mm stuff, but that bloody big ladybird looks like it needs DDT applied.

I'm not sure the customer would agree :D

Although to be fair the bigger they are, the more they tend to underperform on the table top so... Now I want an Ork MOB called DDT ;)

I had to google search DDT.
Only use of the term I knew previous to that was for a wrestling move.

Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

toxicpixie

That looks painful, not sure Bryan the Titan would stand up to that :D

Nathan - how wide are Irregular 2mm blocks?

Not that I'm interested in getting into 2mm at all - honest

toxicpixie

Hah :D

Depends on the block, Alan - the two deep, ten wide are 15mm IIRC, and the three deep, 8 wide are 12mm. The "heavy" cavalry eight wide were about 15mm. Some you can trim the sides off if you really wanted, but I went with 20mm wide bases as that was the smallest size that fitted the largest width of what I'd gone.

I think http://www.tinytintroops.co.uk/Res/2mm/2mm_blocks.htm has the best info I've seen available for sizes, AND has piccies of quite a few AND has good descriptions of the blocks :)

Pleasure!

I think someone on the board mentioned it around when I first got interested in using 2mm and I've had it book marked since :D

Thought I had too, but when I came to look for it I couldn't find it. I needed to find that info about the Renaissance dismounted dragoons.

That's normally the way, know exactly where things are until you need them then they disappear :D

There's quite a few multipurpose biases there that could do multiple duty across periods...

Crikey, it's been a while...

THere's some new commission stuff on my FaceAche page from Pendraken forumites (10mm Brit Paras), some 6mm Napoleonics for Blucher, and some thing I should probably have called quits and "let it go" before it got too cold, a 6mm Imagination force for BBB. Link below!

Cheers Phil :)

I've some more i the works, paid work permitting - the other half the "regular army" which is a brigade in purple kepi's and short green jackets (the new issue to replace the old green/purple uniform as seen in the historical docu-drama "Frozen", depicting the attempted coup in the winter of 1838), and a "reserve brigade" of Landwehr in motley jackets, trousers and various hats. There's also a couple of stands of "Chassuers Zouve d'Arctic in their baggy, padded trousers and jackets with floppy caps. They're recruited from mainly from ethnic Lapps in the areas ceded by Russia post the Crimean War involvement, and make excellent light infantry.

Now all I need is some opposition...
