I love that game and wish I had not left it behind three moves ago!

Great looking army, Mad L, yet another period I am trying hard to resist!
Resistance is futile. The army looks superb Will. This period has at least five really good sets of rules, mostly with compatible bases.

That's a very steep slope. How did you stop the figures sliding off?

This thread will see some action as my Henrician Tudors evolve/move sideways to become Later Swedish for a MeG competition next month...
First new unit, skirmishing handgunners. The figures are from my Imperialist set I bought in (2017?) but I figure Sweden was a comparative backwater in the 1500s so their equipment can be slightly outdated.

A few extra bases done...
15 bases of crossbows. Not often seen in England, but endemic across the rest of Europe, which until the advent of massed firepower, was still using them, and if I want to break away to Sweden and away from my Anglo-centric bias, what better way?

Why 15 bases?
a) Because many units in Crusader lists have them as back ranks, so my Henrician billmen make the front rank?
b) Because 15 x 8 = 90 figures and is three packs
c) Because I can't count?

Eight to a base for loose foot in MeG, also allows me to show off the loader figure at the back of each stand.

It's a lot of bolts!

To denote the one superior foot unit in teh army, and matching in with many contemporary illustrations of Finnish crossbows (Finland was part of Sweden at this time), armoured crossbows

 Side view

Stick these behind the Tudor foot knights and it gets the message across!

They just look deadly

Realised what our 'Enry was missing, heavy artillery! It will also get used in my other later medieval forces too

"Someone tell that idiot in green and yellow to move!"

He really is in the wrong place!

Mounted handgunners, in morion helmets, so will stretch into Renaissance too.

Maybe slightly late for the 1520s of my army, but I'm claiming mercanaries from the south...

Mounted crossbows. Been looking for an excuse to use these in an army as I love the sculpts and the idea of the unit, so will stretch across many Late Medieval or Renaissance units (just not Tudor English I guess)

Great sculpts

Armoured, but colourful

Swedish generals, using Tudor English as bosses (well, Suffolk and James IV of Scotland with top of the range armour, accompanied by earlier later medieval knights as Sweden appears to have been rather a backwater).

The Swedish flag at this time was a darker blue and white, and I had fun finding the arms of the right Swedish King (Gustav Vasa)

Better view of the flag

Charge

And my mediocre general!

Well Lord Speedy you have some very nice bases there. (Nice work)

From a practical point I shudder to think what the horses will do were those mtd hand gunners ever to fire while mounted... ( I know thats a bad thought as a gamer to be had but remembering my riding days of some horses that objected me even riding them, let alone other distractions).  Fascinating period we don't see gamed over this side if the pond in any case)

Beautiful work as always.
I think the guy in yellow and green will move quite a way!

Ikea anyone?

And if an enemy unit raids it they will spend to long trying to get out to return to the battle.

Hang on a Mo!

Your half-way through building it and you discover you are missing a vital screw and you have two left'hand door hinges in the pack

So you phone the help-desk (.... 4hours on hold ...) only to be told (by a totally disinterested youff) that the best thing to do is disassemble it & to take it all back to the (now closed) store and queue up (... another 4 hours ...) to get a replacement pack.

So next day you get up early to miss the queues - arrive at 07.55 to find 300 other people ahead of you (most of whom have done this beforehand so camped out overnight).

However, when you finally get to the returns desk (... 2hrs later - result! ...) they haven't got another one in stock, at this store! But the spotty disinterested youff serving you, looks at his system (after much prompting) and states that there is the possibility (maybe) that they might have one at the Birmingham store (... 4hours drive away ...).

You ask if he could call the store and ask them if they do have it in stock, & if so to save it for you ... but that is not company policy (& it is the youffs break time now anyway).

So you drive home (at least you have your refund) and try to contact the Birmingham store via the website - but as your IP address is not Birmingham the 'system' redirects you constantly back to your local store.

At this point, you sit down and weep like a baby ... your wife consuls you with a beer (feeling guilty as it was her that wanted the new Ikea item in the 1st place), she then calls John Lewis, and a very nice polite helpful young person states that for 5 times the price of the Ikea item it will be delivered (assembled) the very next day!!! And you reach for your wallet without prompting.

And the moral of the story - cheap stuff can often become very expensive for no sensible reason!

(Based on a true story ... but it was I that called John Lewis as the missus had gone off with murder in her eyes to "have a word" with the local Ikea manager ... I think it made her feel better ... but didn't resolve the problem).
