The AAR of our recent game based around Wissembourg 1870 and the first in a sort of narrative Frnco-Prussian War campaign. Details as always can be found on my Blog:

Sadly the hills don't really show up in the 'photos :(. Next time I'll try a few different angles so that they are more visible.

Nice to see someone having another go at the old no-hoper. This was the only Bruce Weigle scenario that made it onto my war-games table. Played it about three times.

I do the figures Steve does the terrain ... I hear he is growing some trees for the Germans to march in the shade  ;)

Just starting into FPW (thanks mainly to Leman and E'mile Zola) so really enjoyed reading through the battle report and looking through the pics. (Still not sure what to do with armies that don't have pikes, however)

Germans charge with artillery support; French shoot for all they're worth whilst their artillery gets knocked out. Germans then either get to grips, or don't. Meanwhile French cavalry die magnificently. Bavarians with Podewils may as well have pikes as they are about as useful.

Not sure what to do with your Franco-Prussian War army? Don't worry about it - neither was Bazaine! (I was going to say Steinmetz, except that he was very sure indeed - just wrong.)
