RiP Sir Terry Wogan. Passed away after a short battle with cancer.

He got me through so many early mornings.

Literally just heard this. January 2016 has one last hurrah, the b***ard! El Tel started his breakfast show when I was still at school and I'm now 63. Shall feel a twinge now whenever Janet and John are mentioned or Hello Sailor. Farewell Tel.

What a month! On top of all the celebrity deaths, close friends of mine have lost 3 family members (a father, brother and brother-in-law) plus we've all lost a well-liked acquaintance from our early lives. Now this unexpected news about Terry Wogan.

I have to admit I wasn't a great fan of his in his 'early' years on BBC and it took me a long time to warm to him (I think his over exposure on TV with his chat show, Wogan, on 3 times a week concurrent with his Blankety Blank show were the culprits).

Only really started to appreciate his talents when I worked in Stirling; like fsn, his radio show getting me through many a long commute in the mornings.  A real shame because, although he had 'retired,' I thought he would be around to entertain us for many years to come.  Very witty, funny and affable man of whom I now affectionately count myself as one his TOGs (Terry's Old Geezers).

I remember him well from early mornings getting ready for school. A wonderful voice and will be sadly missed.
