Has anyone played this by Honour Games (Sam Mustafa)?

Bought them when they came out and have loaned the rules to a friend who returned them late last year but neither of us have played the rules. I have boatloads of unpainted 6mm ACW waiting on a set of rules and inspiration to be painted.

I have only ever played ACW once (Fire and Fury) but didn't very much enjoy the game, although that may have been down to who I was playing with rather than the rules. Keen to get some use out of the unloved lead pile of two armies and hoping this might be the rule set to use as I quite like the card mechanisms Sam uses.

Any insights??
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Yes, I bought them a while back.

I hope to paint enough units this year to start playing them.

I am using Baccus 6mm.

Others have told me that they produce a good game.

Time will tell.

Yes I have played them, and I happen to think they are the best of the card driven sets he's come up with. First off you don't need too many troops. Secondly it has one of the best campaigns I've played. In it you begin the war as a colonel commanding a brigade. The objective is to rise higher than your opponent by doing well in the nine scenarios that take place throughout the war. As time progresses your troops improve, but then you lose some of them tho winter camp fevers. If you are Union you eventually get to recruit black troops. Also weapons improve, you get more artillery and cavalry at your disposal. You could get political support to help you rise up the ranks. And as well as that the actual battles play well and you have to make the best use of the hand (of cards) that fate deals you. In my opinion it is the best campaign driven table-top miniatures game I've played. Next time I will play a western theatre campaign.

Confederate reinforcements turn up from the Shenandoah Valley.

Can this Confederate ship make a difference?

These Union senior staff are a victory objective for the Confederates.

Never played them and card driven games just don't do it for me. However I've only heard good things about the campaign aspect of the game. Personally I'm sticking with BBB for my 20thC battles as they give a good game and can be played solo.

Steve, this is a totally different scale of game to BBB. It is regimental level and is driven by the personality of the character that represents you as the field commander in that part of the battlefield. It is something of a cross between a traditional tabletop game and a bit of role playing.
