I am scratch building an SCR 584 radar trailer for  a diorama .  I have a suitable radar dish and Pendraken crew . Can anyone nail the source for a suitable trailer - 1/150, N Gauge or even a toy that could be modified?

fred.

It looks like the back of most trucks - except it is very square at the corners and top. Would the office version of the Opel Blitz work, with a bit of hacksaw conversion to remove the cab?

Hello Sunray

If you're looking for accuracy the best would be to scratchbuild it, it looks like a fairly simple construction. If you're looking for the quick and dirty you might be able to get by with the trailer from the Oxford Diecast mechanical horse or Scammell Scarab .

They're both about 4 quid at eHattons http://www.ehattons.com/stocklist/1000488/1000589/1000669/0/Oxford_Diecast_N_Gauge_Commercial_vehicles/prodlist.aspx

Many thanks for responding Fred and Vic.  Yes, these two options were "on my radar" - plus the P&D Marsh Artic trailer.

Part of me does not want to take a hacksaw to a neat n gauge Oxford model. Hence the look for cheap toy options.

I have to say I miss the demise of Micro machines - they often had a cheap 'fit the blister' model close to 1/150 that could be tweaked.

I would appreciate it if you continue the keep a look now you know what I am looking for, and post it you make a find.

Thanks

Orcs
