Haven't seen further comments. The new season start the end of January 2016, so I'm curious if it has any sort of following on this forum?

Watched the first two series. Rather enjoyed it 

I missed the first series and haven't seen it on demand yet, so I'm still waiting for it...!   

I found the problem with Black Sails was that every character was so villainous I couldn't give a damn about them, so lost interest.

Watched the first episode, fell asleep, never bothered with it again...

First episode or so looked interesting but then it seemed to degenerate into poorly done soft porn and I lost interest in it.

Yep, first episode was pretty good. Then I watched the first season on Boxing day, I'm sorry to say I was rather glad when it was all over. I doubt I'll bother with season two.

I agree - hard to find anyone to particularly root for ... The wages of sin and all that ... As the back stories have developed some of them garner a little sympathy. The scope of action has also improved (not great but not totally awful)

Season 1 was shown on History tail end of last year. Quite enjoyed it myself. No idea if or when they plan to show season 2.
