Battle Report: Wood Elves vs Beastmen (Taurians)

Managed to sneak a few days off this week & get a solo runout of Warband for the first time - Wood Elves defending the homeland against the marauding Beastmen (proxy Taurians) - a full-frontal attack saw the Beastmen punch a hole in the first line of pointy-eared defence - even though the Beastlord command routed towards the end...

Not much commentary getting in the way of these pics - mostly because I didn't take any notes (fool) and I can't remember detail now (I know, I know - it's only 24 hours ago...must be getting older...mutter...mutter...grumble etc etc)

Really enjoyed this - as a long-time Warmaster fan, Warband did it for me as well - really intuitive, nicely uncertain, decisive and fast. There's a few things I need to try to remember better (I kept forgetting Magic at odd points...user error more than anything else). I did find it a bit odd that there was no way of rallying my Commander once he routed - unless I've missed something...

Anyway - liking this lots - the Gobbos will get a runout sometime soon and I'm already working on building more armies - they'll be based for WM to do double-duty.

Hats off to Mr Hardy  8)

Oh - Beastmen proxies I used:

Wolves = Centaur Knights
Beastmen = Minotaur Warriors
Minotaurs = Giants & Ogres

That all looks rather spectacular!

Whilst this is something I'd probably not get in to myself, not having the patience to paint that many figures, it looks like it could be quite fun to play. Will have to keep my eyes open for a participation game somewhere.

Good looking game Nik, glad you enjoyed it.

Think the boss can rally himself, 3 points per rally point.
But I've not got the rules in front of me, so am probably wrong!

I really like your colour schemes, especially on the Wood Elves. I may adapt your colour scheme for my own Wood Elves as I intend to buy one of the new Wood Elf army packs when they come out.

Yep - that's what I thought...unfortunately he'd used his CPs earlier (not expecting to get his ar$3 handed to him in combat), so was stuffed!

And you canna rally within a base width of an enemy, so if the pursue life gets short and somewhat bloody, especially as you double rout go 1
