Hello,

My name's Jameson. I'm an avid tabletop rpg gamemaster and player who grew up playing Avalon Hill and SPI board games and Dungeons & Dragons. My experience with wargaming has mainly been with The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game and Flames of War.

I'm interested in getting together a game of Warband or, since Pendraken has a good Ancients line, maybe Warmaster Ancients.

Thanks,
Jameson

Leon

Welcome Jameson :-h

You have certainly come to the right place for Warband or any other help you need, feel free to ask any question and someone helpful will be sure to respond :)

There may also be some 'entertaining' responses as well but they are mainly harmless ;D

Dear Mr Thornton,

Welcome to the forum. In my humble opinion, you should try the ancients. Then you'll want to try the medieval ranges, and then you'll wonder about the advent of gunpowder and the next thing you know you'll be slavering over the new British Napoleonics (which are very, very good), then being from the wrong side of the pond you'll need the ACW range.  By that time you'll be missing something solid, and you'll have watched "Fury" or something, and you'll have this absurd notion that Sherman was a good tank and you will have to have some WWII.

By that time, you'll be thinking "Ah the good old days when I played Warband." Pendraken will have introduced it's new range of Trappist Elf Marine Horse Artillery and you'll begin the cycle all over again.

Oh! If you're from Brooklyn do you have that adorable accent that one sees on those rather grisly cinematic entertainments? How louche!

If so, some phonetic spelling would be so cute!

I'm gonna Moider da bum!

A hearty welcome to the Brooklynite.

Good man on the Warband front.  It's good to see the fantasy madness make it to the Big Apple.  I look forward to seeing your splendid armies suitably daguerreotyped.  As others have said, once 10mm gets in your blood, the options are endless,  since with very few exceptions Pendraken do a range of products for 'it' (whatever your particular'it'is).

Have fun here sir.  Its hard not to!

Hi Jameson,

welcome to the forum, I hope you will find it as interesting, helpful and amusing as I have!

As to the "mad as a box of frogs" ... I couldn't possibly comment ... but considering some of the responses above .... :D
