@ Chris Pringle that is perfect exactly what I was looking for! Cheers!
@cameronian yeah I have found that site i was going to use it if I couldn't find the relevant information for 1859/66. It would have only been 48 years out of date!

Chris Pringle

You're welcome. Or "szivesen", as most of your KuK hussars would probably say.

Though like Leman, I'm not sure why you want to know where each individual regiment or battery is recruited from. Unless it be so you can berate them appropriately during games? "Stand and fight, you wretched Serbs/Romanians/Sub-Carpathian Ruthenians ..."

To be honest I think I may have a slight obsessive compulsive disorder, once I found the information about the line regiments I had to find the information about the rest of the army or I couldn't start the period! Surely I won't have to berate my multi ethnic Army into charging repeatedly at chassepot & needle rifles!

Hi Adam, the site I thought I referenced has OOBs and recruiting areas relevant to 1866, did I post the wrong link ?
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Hi Cam,

Your link works fine, and has both the OOBs, and the origins for the line infantry regiments, for 1866 taken from the same source Chris Pringle has found on line. Ie Osterreich's Kampf, the Austrian official history. Unfortunately your link does not include the next Three or four pages which are in Chris's link which give the origins of the cavalry and Jagers. The vast majority of this stuff is also on Ralph Weaver's CD available from the Continental War's Society containing about their first sixty back numbers. Stuart Sutherland was serialising a mass of info on the Austrian Army (sadly incomplete on the Hussars and Uhlans) but in an English translation which is a bit more user friendly than the original.  If I am not mistaken, the piece that Adam really needs from the OK lists is the province. Still congrats to both you and Chris on beating me to it!

Excellent link Chris.   Another book saved into the ever growing heap...

If you (or anyone) is interested, I've put together a large Excel spreadsheet showing the lineage of all
Austro-Hungarian Regiments (1550 to 1914) using Wrede and the online Schematismus.   Just PM me.

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil
Yeah I would be very interested in that I have sent you a message. That's the trouble with me and historical miniatures I spend more time researching them then I do painting them!
