Cracking report Nosher! How do you find the Blüchęr rules play out?
I can see a Penninsular mob being used.

Nosher,

Great report, thanks for posting, and I look forward to more.  I freaked out a little bit with the first pic, which showed only cards for the forces, you've got quite a majestic set of forces!

Thanks ML ;)

Blucher's my 'go to' Napoleonics Rule set at the moment as it gives me everything I want from a game. Combine that with the Scharnhorst Campaign rules which I've used quite successfully on two separate occasions with two separate opponents its a no-brainer for me when it comes to solo-play.

Friends at the club have also used Scharnhorst for club games and it's encouraging those at the club who play other non-historical stuff at the club to try out Napoleonics too so that's also a bonus.

It works for me because it can handle Multi-Corps actions and the rules are relatively simple to understand yet give a good game. Some of the mechanisms can feel odd as firing and combat is almost abstracted. You wont see pretty lines of troops or assault column formations, but if you were starting from scratch with the base sizes suggested you could easily model bases in Ordre-mixte, multiple firing lines etc.

Ive gone with 30x30 bases with four bases making a Brigade/Regiment. It works for me although the recommended base size is about a third bigger.

I'd be happy to post something outlining how the game plays if that would help??

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!
