Looked a fun game and nice to see the lines continuing throughout the battle. However, in our games Grenzers and other light, dispersed infantry can move more than once and fire. I agree that moving more than once and not firing is a good rule for drilled troops manoeuvering in close line formation, but it doesn't ring true for troops like Grenzers, especially as they are already penalised for being in loose formations. There are a number of things about the BP "rules" for the SYW with which I disagree as a result of reading Duffy's books. Using all the suggestions in 'Last Argument of Kings' does tend to turn the Prussian army into one of super soldiers, the Frederick the Great rule being a particular example of this. The suggestions also turn the Austrian army into something more akin to the HRE units, which did perform poorly in the SYW. Consequently, after a few games of SYW using BP I am starting to temper the suggestions in Last Argument.

This is something worth thinking about, so thanks for flagging it up.

Luckily we are not using most of the suggestions from the LAoK supplement. The army lists have surficed so far with the odd add on 'upgrade/downgrade'.

I really must get some of Duffy's books for this period to add to my pile of books to be read.

If you are able to find a copy, 'The Army of Maria Theresa' is a must. It demonstrates that the Austrian army was not as clunky as LAoK makes out.

Yes Duffy's book is a must. Great looking battle!
