How many of us have had to wear a hard hat to build a diorama?  :-\

Apart from Matron.
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

Ah, some brief glimpses of the terrain there. Gives you an idea of just how big this diorama will be.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

The main exhibition is now open

This news item gives a glimpse into one of the exhibits and also shows some of items being craned into the museum (Please excuse the ad)

The Perrys fly out of NZ tomorrow to be back in time for Salute having put in some very long hours supported by the Weta team and some very keen volunteers

Is that all part of the Scale of War exhibition?..
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Is that all part of the Scale of War exhibition?..

There are two main exhibitions in Wellington:
- The Scale of our War, which focuses on 8 individuals at Gallipoli including models of them 2.5 times life size. This is at Te Papa, our national museum

- The Great War Exhibition, which looks at the story of the whole war a year at a time, our diorama forms part of the New Zealand room of this exhibition that focuses more on the New Zealand experience. This is at the old Dominion Museum, that used to be our national museum and now is part of a university campus. It is also adjacent to Pukeahu ('sacred hill' in Māori), our new national war memorial park which includes the tomb of the unknown warrior.

The NZ media has added to the confusion by not being able to get the names of the exhibitions right. Having Weta Workshop involved in both has added to the confusion.
