I think I need to spend more time framing and ensuring the camera is steady, rather than clicking like a madman.

Great advice for all photographers, shame we don't follow it more ;)

I liked this one, but didn't think it worked for the comp

I agree with both points   ;) ;D

Nice work Fred  :-bd

What is the "thing" towing the gun.  Looks like a steam engine.

This is actually the Holt Artillary tractor model http://www.pendraken.co.uk/BP60-p6979/

Which is available as well as the traction engines linked to by Fenton - it's a beast of a model.

How did that thing actually function near a battlefield? :o

There weren't many other options for moving big guns. It would need a lot of horses, or even more men.

These tractors weren't really for use at the front line, the guns they were used to move had ranges of several miles.

I think there were fairly succesful, but only available in small numbers. Some of the first tank designs used Holt tractors as the chassis.

Thanks for the history; really impressive piece of kit ;)

Been busy painting and playing - but not much Pendraken stuff recently, so not many updates here.

Got a big parcel from Leon today

Bases (obviously  :-[ ) for two projects, the final few bases for my Epic Tyranids (and some more red paint for them) and sabot bases for Warband.

I really like the warband tokens these are very nice, and the sabot bases seem to work well - including the custom 2p sized ones.  :-bd

I don't nkow - perhaps if you want to play Jenga with them?

Really finishing these off with some sand paint and flock, will be 100x quicker than rebasing figures.

I ordered meself a big pile of movement trays, and am extremely happy with them.

Mine had the 90mm x 30mm 'ole, 'cos I use 30x30 or 30x15 bases, and each one neatly holds a section of infantry WWII style.

I am pondering though, that with a movement tray, base and figure base, our figures do hover about a 2 foot above the table surface.
