If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

If anyone has watched the Waterloo episode you'll find, halfway through,  someone has taped over it with some dodgy 80's programme.

VHS cassettes,  remember them?  :)

Just watched Edgehill. A very interesting peek into the history of wargaming.

Any one know what rules they were using? That artillery range stick was impressive.

I still have one. Length of balsa painted to show the bounce of round-shot. I have the triangle of piano wire for grape-shot, too.

Excellent. I recall these also.  Featherstone's rules were the first 'commercial' rules I've ever played. As a teenager, I previously used my own rules and was completely unaware of what was 'out there.' I also recall a shell burst template for Featherstone's ACW rules  - each burst circle 2" diameter(?) which I think you used in conjunction with the stick.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

We still use them for our Airfix Napoleonics  ;)
Our grape-shot canister wire is a much more sophisticated shape  ;)
