Good day

After a semester of hard work me and Onur from the Karagah Club in Istanbul were finally able to give our Ottoman and Russian armies, and the Black Powder Army lists we developed a run in Istanbul. All in all a great game and we are happy with the lists and scenarios. Find a heavily illustrated battle report at Leadhead PhD.

Looks really good

Its a war I know nothing about...I shall go and look it up
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

A lovely report and a good looking game.

Looking forward to more of the same!

Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

Really interesting report on a period I don't know much about. Think that attackers might have needed nearer to a 3:1 superiority unless there was a massive difference in quality and morale.

Great battle report on a period I know very little about. Think the Russians might have needed nearer to a 3:1 superiority in numbers unless there was a massive quality/morale difference,

3 to 1 superiority would had made the game easier for the Russians and maybe impossible for the Ottomans. But indeed the game does point to the need  for 3 to 1 superiority for attacks on defended positions, which makes it a pretty good as a model of reality. It also indicates that massing artillery in massive batteries is the way to go, which also makes it a pretty good model of reality.

What I should had done is either

1) Mass 3 brigades in one point and use the artillery and last brigade to stop the Ottoman center from interfering.

2) Go as I did but mass the artillery on the attack on A.

It was a cardinal mistake to send one birgade out in the open center. Quite correctly they got bogged down and could not do much for me.
