I wondered why they kept telling us it was raining when there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  

Once on a train from Liverpool to London, which crossed the Mersey at Runcorn. the guy sitting opposite me took one puzzled look at the adjacent road bridge and said, "What the hell are we doing in Newcastle?"

Course when I commuted by train to Runcorn used to annoy colleagues by saying I had no problems crossing the bridge.
