Gentlemen, and ladies, of the forum.

I ask you to cast your vote in this totally unbiased poll, for the prestigious title of 'Oik of the year, 2014."
A difficult choice, I know.....But there has to be a winner.
It could be a very close run thing, so I ask you to consider the options carefully.

Sorry couldnt vote, it would mean admitting to knowing of him..Maybe another voting option is required
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

According to my "Fraser's Word Derivations" (2011 revision, forward by Stephen Fry) "Oik" is a contraction of "Oooh! I Know". It was originally a public school term for the person in the class whose intelligence put the others to shame; the pupil who constantly hand his hand in the air saying "Oooh! I Know." A swot, if you would.

I think it's quite appropriate.   :P

from the Oxford English Dictionary: oick, oik (OIk). slang. Etym. obscure. Depreciatory schoolboy word for a member of another school; an unpopular or disliked fellow-pupil.
