Amazon have the 1814 book available on preorder at a good discount

Amazon are no longer selling the Picardy book, so have had to go direct to Helion and it's flippin expensive, but I'm a great fan of Faidherbe.

Just received the Barry 1870/71 book. A first look confirms it as well written, with some reasonable colour maps. Given the scarcity of similar books you probably have to have it.

Damn lucky to get my copy of the Picardy campaign (The Somme 1870-71). Only 500 print run and mine is 468. Well worth getting. Reads well and profusely illustrated, which I find very useful for modelling battlefields. For some reason though the colour photos in the centre are repeated in b/w in the relevant text of the book - maybe the way to go for ebooks?

I am just finishing a review of the Somme for Battlegames and whatever so if they only have 32 left to sell I wonder why I am doing this. Perhaps because I'm a slow reader.
